UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Tromsø

Hybrid, On-site

Overview

This open-door hybrid workshop brings together experts in fertility science, reproductive medicine, AI for health, and assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs) to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping male fertility research and clinical innovation. Participants will examine the current landscape of AI-driven advances in semen analysis, sperm selection technologies, embryo–sperm interaction modelling, predictive analytics, virtual staining, and next-generation ART workflows.

The workshop will also highlight the most urgent clinical needs, fast-emerging research trends, and the role of ethical, explainable, and gender-aware AI systems in reproductive medicine. Geographical, cultural, legal, and societal considerations affecting fertility treatments and AI deployment will form an important part of the discussions.

Call for Papers/Abstract/Participation

The AI4Fertility Workshop invites professors, researchers, clinicians, engineers, and students to submit papers, and abstracts showcasing innovative work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and fertility science. We welcome contributions on AI‑driven semen analysis, sperm‑selection technologies, large language or foundational models for reproductive health, limitations and challenges of AI in fertility research, and emerging foundational models for IVF and ART workflows. Submissions may include early‑stage ideas, work in progress, or mature results, reflecting the workshop’s goal of fostering open scientific exchange. All contributions should be 2–4 pages (including references), non‑archival, and aligned with the workshop themes.

We also encourage practitioners, industry partners and anyone interested in AI and fertility to participate in discussions, demonstrations, and collaborative sessions aimed at shaping the future of AI‑enabled fertility research and clinical practice.

This workshop will focus on the use of AI in fertility science. Below are some of the topics related to the theme of the workshop. This list is not exhaustive, and participants are encouraged to submit any work in the intersection of AI and reproduction.

Topics

  • AI in semen analysis

  • AI for sperm selection technologies
