Generative AI for Health and Life Sciences
Welcome to the summer school “Generative AI for Health and Life Sciences”, organized by the DLN center at UiT The Arctic University of Norway!
Summer School: 5th - 7th August, 2024
Venue : TEKNOBYGGET 1,022AUD, Tromsø, Norway
Artificial intelligence, particularly generative AI (GenAI), is revolutionizing the health and life sciences sectors. By leveraging advanced algorithms, GenAI can create synthetic data, model biological processes, and predict disease outcomes, enhancing both research and clinical practices. This intensive course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to harness GenAI in health and life sciences, fostering a deeper understanding and innovative application of these powerful technologies.
Throughout the course, students will explore various GenAI methods, such as language modeling, synthetic data generation, and computational biology. Emphasis will be placed on practical applications, including generating synthetic images and videos, visualizing and predicting biological data, and utilizing large language models for life sciences tasks. By the end of the course, students will be adept at developing and implementing GenAI solutions tailored to the unique challenges of health and life sciences.
The course schedule is dynamic, adapting to contemporary advancements in the field and incorporating emerging topics. Students will engage in a mix of lectures, hands-on sessions, and project consultations, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience. Key topics include, but not limited to:
NOTE: First lecture will be held on 28th May 2024 and will be given digitally (online).
Part of the lectures will be uploaded as video lectures, which is a prerequisite before the onsite (at UiT) program begins in August. The details will be shared during the first digital introductory.
